Getting Ready for Burghley Horse Trials — Our First Ever Trade Stand
A properly full on week in the run up to Burghley and somehow, we made it there. This week had a bit of everything: a smashed window the wing mirror went straight through the lorry window, Coco competing twice so the horse lorry needed a deep clean and a pulled my back doing stud holes that really which was not ideal! Fifi was kicking out with her back legs!
Behind the scenes, Burghley prep has been in full swing Nigel's been finishing the stand, Meg came to help me get organised for card payments, and I had the loveliest surprise offer of help from one of my followers. By the end of the week we're actually there, set up in the Lifestyle Pavilion with help from my dear friend Elizabeth, camping in the lorry with no electricity on our first night, and finishing with a genuinely magical virtual course walk with Tom McEwen at the famous fences.
I'll also share a few bits I've been loving along the way my go-to Bower Collective washing up bottle for the lorry kitchen, a second little air fryer just for Burghley meals, and the pillow that's finally sorting out my sleep.
It's a mad one, but a good one.
With love,
Charlie x
