Summer house glow up! Simple curtain making & our new pool!

The Summerhouse has had a glow-up! And there’s a new water feature in town…

Sigh managed to snag a complete bargain last year during an end-of-season sale… an overground pool. It’s something we have been talking about for years, and of course not only was it a bargain in the first place it’s also saved us a fortune when compared to other methods of installing a pool in the garden.

Now don’t get me wrong, it is taking some getting used to! I think it’s hideous, and I really did find myself recoiling each time I spotted it from the windows of our home. However, as always, safety is a number one priority for me and I am so happy that I can see and hear the children as they play out there. I am only a few feet away, and I can just keep an eye whilst in the garden room or kitchen.

It will be such a wonderful, fun-filled area this Summer, and it was important to me to create as beautiful a setting as I could around the pool, so I got to work transforming the Summer House into our new Pool House! Now I’m excited for the hours we’ll spend out here with friends and family, the laughter and joy it will bring, and the happiness all around.

One of the larger elements we needed to tackle was the decking around the Summer House and Pool, so I sought the help of Nigel and Brian who are complete whizzes! They’ve created a fantastic area that should mean no muddy or grassy feet make it into the water, and that it all looks far more polished.

I also got to work creating some quick curtains for the inside of the pool house, which you can watch me whip up in this week’s video, as well as some new potted features to just give the area some character.

Do join me as I show you around!

Love, Charlie x
