Get Ready With Me | My Evening Makeup Routine for a Summer Party

We are going out this evening to celebrate a friend's 60th, and I thought I would take you along for my getting ready.

This is not a heavy makeup look. I don't wear a great deal of makeup during the day, and for the evening I just want to look like a slightly more polished version of myself, natural but a little more defined. No dramatic transformation. Just the same face, done a bit better.

I take you through everything from moisturiser to mascara!

A few things I have learned along the way: always use your hands for foundation, a brush will never give you the same natural finish. Always curl your eyelashes before your eyeliner, not after. Always remove the foundation from your eyebrows. Put a lighter colour in the inner corner of the eye and it wakes your whole face up instantly. And never, ever do a dramatic eye and a dramatic lip at the same time - choose one.

The piece of advice that has made the biggest difference to my makeup over the years: book yourself a session at the Trinny Store on the King's Road. I went before they even had a shop, just the studio. I came out knowing exactly what to use, where, and why. It is worth every penny.

I am wearing the Lexi London dress I bought last year. I may have quietly stitched up the front slightly. I say nothing more.

With love
