I Didn’t Expect to Get Emotional… Midhurst Tractor Run, New Year’s Cook & Frosty Walks
This week I’m starting in the car park after the Midhurst Tractor Run, and I wasn’t expecting it to hit me quite so hard. Seeing the turnout, and knowing it’s raising money for Midhurst Palliative Care and RABI, really brought home how much our countryside and farmers need support right now.
From there it’s very “real life at home” - a proper laundry mountain, a quiet afternoon to myself, and a few cosy watches (Victoria Beckham, then I get completely hooked on Ripple!). I also do my favourite New Year’s cook: beef bourguignon (straight from my book Through The Seasons), plus a batch of sausage rolls using leftovers from the fridge.
There are frosty dog walks, playing with the new drone, pony jobs in the fog, and a small tyre drama before our Scotland trip. I also chat about getting back into regular exercise, and why I’ve booked myself onto a vitality retreat in Lanzarote at the end of January.
We finish with a really fun New Year’s Eve, then a perfect New Year’s Day lunch at one of our favourite spots, The Spread Eagle in Midhurst. If you fancy a calm, chatty, countryside vlog with good food and a bit of a reset feeling, this one’s for you!
